We were at Jared's parents for Thanksgiving. Jared just (on Monday) got the new Google phone for Verizon, the Motorola Droid. The new phone is supposed to do everything the iPhone will do + a little more. It got a little
intense at times...
I love how the only ones interested were the dudes.
Jared's conclusion: "The Droid definitely kicked the iPhone's butt."
I don't know if the others were convinced...

I know it's been awhile since I've posted to my blog when I go to log in to my blog service and the homepage is completely different! It took me a minute for me to figure out how the heck I was supposed to post a message!
We got our Christmas Cards in the mail today. To many this may seem to be jumping the gun. However, I'm going to be extremely busy in the next couple of weeks and knew it would never get done if I didn't do it early. Plus, I already had the picture I wanted and knew what template I wanted to use... why not?
Katelyn always loves it when I get boxes from White House Custom Colour. The arrows on the box five it away. WHCC boxes means a Tootsie pop. In every one. I kept it this time. However, she was extremely helpful in folding the 55+ cards. I ordered 50 cards. They come in packs of "25." "25" being in parentheses because they always send a few extra cards to be used by the photographer as studio samples. Which is really nice when the cards were for me in the first place!
And, now that they're all folded up... and I have the invitations to our housewarming party designed and printed off... I'll be able to get to addressing cards tonight! Then to the mail box tomorrow.
Anyone interested in ordering a custom card for Christmas, contact me. I can use any picture (even not taken by me, unless copyrighted by another professional). If you'd like, I can do re-touching on your photo as well.
All of my Christmas Card templates can be viewed here: 2009 Holiday Card Catalog

Jenny and Jake were AWESOME to work with. Jenney originally contacted me via my website contact form in a panic because she couldn't find a wedding photographer for her date. She was relieve when I said I was open for that date! I met with them about a week before we did their bridal shoot and it was cool because they already had an idea of locations and were willing to try new things. Jenny's mom was with us through everything and she was amazing and sooo much fun!
I was a bit intimidated when it came time for the shoot. We had a reservation to shoot at a bed and breakfast in town... so I was waiting with my gear, when several car loads pull up. Jenny, Jake, and FAMILY galore was there to witness the shoot. I think it was amazing that they had all that support. And now that I look back, I only regret not getting a picture with the support group too. They carried my bags, and held reflectors, and fluffed the dress, and fixed hair, and suggested things I hadn't thought of.
I'd take pictures of these guys any day! It's nice when you feel like you connect...

I did spend a couple of hours photo-shopping it. It was great the way it was, really. I want to get a big copy printed for my wall... and wanted to add a couple of "me" touches to it, like brightening our faces and adding texture to the edges. And I clone stamped some chocolate out of Calvin's shirt. Darkened the edges a bit.
The picture was taken in August in Salt Lake at my brother-in-laws wedding. The one I made the fancy cake for.
Remember this?

I was outside working on getting more boxes out of the garage to "unpack," when this smoke cloud blew in from the west. It smells like a campfire out here. Wonder what's on fire?
Tess, Calvin & Jocelyn came out to see. It's garbage day, which is why I'm trying to unpack more. Better get it done so I can get rid of more boxes!
I went to pick up Jocelyn early from school today. She insisted she was sick. But since she's been home she's been just peachy! She's not happy that I'm not letting her do things she normally gets to do after school. Like playing with friends or watching TV.
