Jocelyn in Oregon.
Jocelyn left almost a week ago to spend 10 days in Oregon with her aunt and cousin. I haven't talked to her since she has been there. Jared did once I think. But it doesn't bug me because I know she is having fun, and I wouldn't understand her very well over the phone anyway! But today I noticed that some pictures had been posted to the family website of some of her adventures. I don't actually know who took the pictures, but for the most part, my guesses are on my SIL Jessica.
The beach in coats, huh? I'm sure it was fun... but that's not my idea of beach attire!!! LOL!
On another note... I went to Design Theory today, an antique store here in town. It's been around for awhile, so I'm sure this is not new news... but I LOVED it in there. I've never been before because it isn't exactly one of those places where you want to take 4 kids. One MAYBE. But they had a lot of cool stuff, and it was pretty cheap... and the ladies working were super nice. I forsee buying a lot of photography props there as soon as I have more space...
Which in other news... I guess our floor plan is about to go to the printers!
This is what the upstairs will look like for anyone interested...
The "bedroom 1" is going to be my hobby room I guess. Normally I'd call it my scrapbook room... but between my sewing, quilting, scrapbooking and photography stuff that will be in there, I'm better off calling it a hobby room, LOL!
The "Guest Retreat" is actually going to be Jared's office for his electronic projects and consulting. It has an outside entrance from the courtyard so that clients won't have to walk through the house... which is sure to be in a constant state of messy.
Otherwise... there is lots of storage, a big kitchen/great room with fireplace, and a huge master suite. The garage has 3 bays and is long enough to fit my truck in. A spiral staircase goes up to the roof for an "observation deck." And all of the kids bedrooms will be downstairs along with a bathroom, storage room, and a big room for a projector/game room/play area...
Now that we have the lot loan taken care of, we are scraping things together for a construction loan. Things would be easier if we had about $30,000 cash just stuffed under the mattress... but alas, we don't... so we'll figure something out!
I'm hoping to supplement some of the cost with my photography business. I have a shoot penciled in for Friday morning. Not confirmed though. I'm waiting to really start putting myself out there until I have all of my bits and pieces together. So far, I have my website up and functional, invoices, a receipt book, and a planner to keep track of when I have shoots planned. I've designed a CD label that I will deliver images on, and just need to print a bunch up. I was going to have CD's professionally silkscreened... but I haven't found a place that I really liked yet so I'm just going to wait until business picks up and I have more to spend! I'd also like to one day have customized invoices... but for now I only have stock ones from Office Max. But, my business cards will be here on Friday... and for that I'm excited. I still need to draw up a contract... and I'll probably start pushing it next week!

Looks like you're getting it all together! Way to go, Amy!!

Hey it is cold and windy way up here, just be happy she's seeing sun and it's not raining, lol! Next time you'll have to bring the whole family and we can trade off doing family-portraits for each other :)
Love the design for the new house, it looks like it's going to be amazing. When do they estimate it will be built and ready for move in?

Wow! A whole 10 days with 3 kids. Sounds like fun! Your house plans look great and I hope that everything goes smoothly with the loan!

Your houseplan is fabulous. A far cry from my 750 sq feet main floor!! That is so exciting! I still have never even seen your current house, but I am sure we will see your new one when it is finished since it is so close to the Ranch & lake. How fun!

Hey, I used to work at Design Theory... but before they changed owners. Now they have a lot cuter stuff. I have been telling the owner that I will bring in some of my jewelry to sell there, but just haven't done it yet.
So, I am expecting to have these babies on July 7th. I say this because I need to wait that long for my uncle to come back and deliver them. He's on vacation right now and I really don't want to have them while he's gone, but as soon as he's back I'm planning on putting myself into labor... ;)LOL... So, that's my plan right now. If you want to just wait until I have them to make plans, then that's fine, or if you would like to make some plans for a certain day to just have on hold, then let me know... I'll definitely let you know when they come and if they are in the hospital. I don't expect that they will have to be in the hospital if they come when I want, or at least not more than a week, so I am hoping everything works out how I have it planned in my head... :)
